בני יהודה פרץ חצרון וכרמי וחור ושובל:
wshwbl wkhwr wkrmy khtsrwn prts yhwdh bny
The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.

וראיה בר שובל אוליד ית יחת ויחת אוליד ית אחומי וית להד אלין זרעית יהודה דיתבין בצרעה:
btsreh dythbyn yhwdh zreyth alyn lhd wyth akhwmy yth awlyd wykhth ykhth yth awlyd shwbl br wrayh
Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath; and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

ואלין רבניא דיתבין בעיטם יזרעאל וישמא וידבש ושום אחתהון הצללפוני:
htsllpwny akhthhwn wshwm wydbsh wyshma yzreal beyTm dythbyn rbnya walyn
These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. The name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.

ופנואל אבא דגדור ועזר אבא דחושה אלין בני חור בוכרא דאפרת היא מרים ואתמנא רבא בבית לחם:
lkhm bbyth rba wathmna mrym hya daprth bwkra khwr bny alyn dkhwshh aba wezr dgdwr aba wpnwal
Penuel was the father of Gedor and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

ולאשחור רבא דתקוע הוון תרתין נשין חלאה ונערה:
wnerh khlah nshyn thrthyn hwwn dthqwe rba wlashkhwr
Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

וילידת ליה נערה ית אחזם וית חפר וית תימני וית אחשתרי אלין בני נערה:
nerh bny alyn akhshthry wyth thymny wyth khpr wyth akhzm yth nerh lyh wylydth
Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

ובני חלאה צרת וצוחר ואתנן וקוץ:
wqwts wathnn wtswkhr tsrth khlah wbny
The sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

וקוץ אוליד ית ענוב וית צובבה וגניסת אחרחל הוא חור בוכרא דמרים:
dmrym bwkra khwr hwa akhrkhl wgnysth tswbbh wyth enwb yth awlyd wqwts
Hakkoz became the father of Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

והוה יעבץ הוא עתניאל יקיר וחכים באוריתא יתיר מן אחוהי ואמיה קרת שמיה יעבץ ארום בצערא ילידתיה:
ylydthyh btsera arwm yebts shmyh qrth wamyh akhwhy mn ythyr bawrytha wkhkym yqyr ethnyal hwa yebts whwh
Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him with sorrow.”

וצלי יעבץ לאלהא דישראל למימר אין ברכא תברכנני בבניא ותסגי ית תחומי בתלמידיא ותהי ידך עמי במשקל ומטרא ותעביד לי חבריא דכמתי מן בגלל דלא ירגזנני יצרא בישא ואיתי יי ית מה דשאיל:
dshayl mh yth yy waythy bysha ytsra yrgznny dla bgll mn dkmthy khbrya ly wthebyd wmTra bmshql emy ydk wthhy bthlmydya thkhwmy yth wthsgy bbnya thbrknny brka ayn lmymr dyshral lalha yebts wtsly
Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

וכלוב אחוי דשוחא אוליד ית פירוג הוא אבא דאשתון:
dashthwn aba hwa pyrwg yth awlyd dshwkha akhwy wklwb
Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

ואשתון אוליד ית בית רפא וית פסח וית תחנה אבי עיר נחש אלין אנשי סנהדרין רבתא:
rbtha snhdryn anshy alyn nkhsh eyr aby thkhnh wyth pskh wyth rpa byth yth awlyd washthwn
Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.

ובני קנז עתניאל הוא יעבץ ושריה ובני עתניאל חתת:
khthth ethnyal wbny wshryh yebts hwa ethnyal qnz wbny
The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.

ומעונותי אוליד ית עפרה ושריה אוליד ית מואב רב חילא דאומניא ארום אומנוא הוו:
hww awmnwa arwm dawmnya khyla rb mwab yth awlyd wshryh eprh yth awlyd wmewnwthy
Meonothai became the father of Ophrah: and Seraiah became the father of Joab the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.

ובני כלב בר יפנה הוא חצרון והוו צוחין ליה כלב בר יפנה מטול דפני לביה מן עיטת מאלליא ואלין בנוי עירו אלה ונעם ובני אלה קנז:
qnz alh wbny wnem alh eyrw bnwy walyn mallya eyTth mn lbyh dpny mTwl ypnh br klb lyh tswkhyn whww khtsrwn hwa ypnh br klb wbny
The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.

ובני יהללאל זיף וזיפה תריא ואשראל:
washral thrya wzyph zyp yhllal wbny
The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

ובריה דעזרה יתר ומרד ועפר וילון ואעדיאת מניה מרים היא אפרת ית שמי וית ישבח אבא דאשתמוע:
dashthmwe aba yshbkh wyth shmy yth aprth hya mrym mnyh waedyath wylwn wepr wmrd ythr dezrh wbryh
The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon; and Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

ואנתתיה יהודיתא רביאת ית משה כד שחלתיה מן מיא וקרת שמיה ירד דאוחית מנא לישראל רבא דגדור דבנא חורבנהון דישראל וית חבר דחביר ישראל לאבוהון די בשמיא רבא דסוכו דטליל על בית ישראל בזכותיה וית יקותיאל דאמתינו ישראל לאלהא דבשמיא ביומוי ארבעין שנין במדברא רבא זנוח דשבק אלהא על חובי ישראל אמטולתיה אלין שמהן קרת ליה בתיה ברת פרעה ברוח נבואה ואתגירת ונסבה ליה מרד לאנתו הוא כלב די מרד במלכת מאלליא:

His wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

ובני אתת הודיה אחתיה דצעת רבא דקעילה דמן גרם ואשתמוע דמן מעכה:
mekh dmn washthmwe grm dmn dqeylh rba dtseth akhthyh hwdyh athth wbny
The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.

ובני שימון אמנון ורנה בר חנן ותילון ובני ישעי זוחת ובר זוחת:
zwkhth wbr zwkhth yshey wbny wthylwn khnn br wrnh amnwn shymwn wbny
The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben Zoheth.

בני שלה בר יהודה ער אבי לכה ולעדה רבא דמרישה וגניסת בית עבידת בוצא דלבושי מלכיא וכהניא מסירא לבית אשבע:
ashbe lbyth msyra wkhnya mlkya dlbwshy bwtsa ebydth byth wgnysth dmryshh rba wledh lkh aby er yhwdh br shlh bny
The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

ונביא וספריא דנפקו מזרעא דיהושע וגבעונאי דמתיהבין לעבדין בבית מקדשא מטול דכדבו לרברביא דישראל ויואש הוא מחלון ושרף הוא כליון די נסיבו נשין מבנת מואב ובעז רב חכמיא דמתיבת בית לחם דמתעסקין עתיק יומין:
ywmyn ethyq dmthesqyn lkhm byth dmthybth khkmya rb wbez mwab mbnth nshyn nsybw dy klywn hwa wshrp mkhlwn hwa wywash dyshral lrbrbya dkdbw mTwl mqdsha bbyth lebdyn dmthyhbyn wgbewnay dyhwshe mzrea dnpqw wsprya wnbya
and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. These records are ancient.

הנון תלמידי אוריתא דאמטולהון אתברי עלמא דיתבין על דינא ומיצבין ית עלמא ובנן ומשכללין ית חרבני בית ישראל עם שכינת מלכא דעלמא בפולחן אוריתא ובעבור ירחין וקביעות רישי שניא ומועדיא אתיתבו תמן וסמכין מן שמיא על דעתהון ביומי רות אמא דמלכותא עד יומי שלמה מלכא:
mlka shlmh ywmy ed dmlkwtha ama rwth bywmy dethhwn el shmya mn wsmkyn thmn athythbw wmwedya shnya ryshy wqbyewth yrkhyn wbebwr awrytha bpwlkhn delma mlka shkynth em yshral byth khrbny yth wmshkllyn wbnn elma yth wmytsbyn dyna el dythbyn elma athbry damTwlhwn awrytha thlmydy hnwn
These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah; they lived there with the king for his work.

ובני שמעון נמואל וימין יריב זרח שאול הוא זמרי שאול שאיל גופיה לפורענותא:
lpwrenwtha gwpyh shayl shawl zmry hwa shawl zrkh yryb wymyn nmwal shmewn wbny
The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

שלום בריה מבשם בריה משמע בריה:
bryh mshme bryh mbshm bryh shlwm
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.
26
ובני משמע חמואל בריה זכור בריה שמעי בריה:
bryh shmey bryh zkwr bryh khmwal mshme wbny
The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27
ולשמעי בנין אשתסר ובנן אשתה ולאחוהי לא הוו בנין סגיאין וכל גניסתהון לא אסגיאו בנין עד בני יהודה:
yhwdh bny ed bnyn asgyaw la gnysthhwn wkl sgyayn bnyn hww la wlakhwhy ashthh wbnn ashthsr bnyn wlshmey
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers didn’t have many children, and all their family didn’t multiply like the children of Judah.

ויתיבו בבארה דשבע ומולדה וחצר תעלא:
thela wkhtsr wmwldh dshbe bbarh wythybw
They lived at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazarshual,

ובאוריות ארתכיא ובדרת סוסיא ובבית בראי ובשערים אלין קרויהון עד דמליך דויד:
dwyd dmlyk ed qrwyhwn alyn wbsherym bray wbbyth swsya wbdrth arthkya wbawrywth
at Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until David’s reign.
32
וכסתרותכון עיטם ועין רמון ותוכן ועשן קרוין חמש:
khmsh qrwyn weshn wthwkn rmwn weyn eyTm wksthrwthkwn
Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;
33
וכל קסתרותהון דבחוזרניהון קרויא האלין עד בעל דא מתבניהון והתיחסן להון:
lhwn whthykhsn mthbnyhwn da bel ed halyn qrwya dbkhwzrnyhwn qsthrwthhwn wkl
and all their villages that were around the same cities, as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept their genealogy.

ומשובב וימלך ויושה בר אמציה:
amtsyh br wywshh wymlk wmshwbb
Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah the son of Amaziah,
35
ויואל ויהוא בר יושביה בר שריה בר עשיאל:
eshyal br shryh br ywshbyh br wyhwa wywal
Joel, Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
36
ואליועני ויעקבה וישוחיה ועשיה ועדיאל וישמאל ובניה:
wbnyh wyshmal wedyal weshyh wyshwkhyh wyeqbh walyweny
Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

וזיזא בר שפעי בר אלון בר ידיה בר שמרי בר שמעיה:
shmeyh br shmry br ydyh br alwn br shpey br wzyza
and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah—
38
אלין דאתין מפרשין בשמהן אמרכולין בגניסת בית אבהתהון תקיפו לסגעי:
lsgey thqypw abhthhwn byth bgnysth amrkwlyn bshmhn mprshyn dathyn alyn
these mentioned by name were princes in their families. Their fathers’ houses increased greatly.
39
ואזלו למעלני גדור עד למדינחא דחילתא למתבע אתר כשר למרעיתא לענהון:
lenhwn lmreytha kshr athr lmthbe dkhyltha lmdynkha ed gdwr lmelny wazlw
They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

ואשכחו אתר כשר למרעיתא שמן ושפיר וארעא פטימתא ופתית תחומין ושדוכא ושליותא ארום מן בניהון הוון עמא דיתיבו תמן מן לקדמין:
lqdmyn mn thmn dythybw ema hwwn bnyhwn mn arwm wshlywtha wshdwka thkhwmyn wpthyth pTymtha warea wshpyr shmn lmreytha kshr athr washkkhw
They found rich, good pasture, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful, for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.
41
ואתו אלין דאתפרשו בשמהן ביומי יחזקיהו מלך שבטא דיהודה ומחו ית משכניהון וית מרודי דאשכחו תמן וגמרונון עד יומא הדין ויתיבו באתריהון ארום אתר כשר למרעית ענהון תמן:
thmn enhwn lmreyth kshr athr arwm bathryhwn wythybw hdyn ywma ed wgmrwnwn thmn dashkkhw mrwdy wyth mshknyhwn yth wmkhw dyhwdh shbTa mlk ykhzqyhw bywmy bshmhn dathprshw alyn wathw
These written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and struck their tents and the Meunim who were found there; and they destroyed them utterly to this day, and lived in their place, because there was pasture there for their flocks.

ומנהון מן בני שמעון אזלו לטורא דנבלא גוברין חמש מאה ופלטיה ונעריה ורפיה ועזיאל בני ישעי אתמנו לרבני חילא ברישיהון:
bryshyhwn khyla lrbny athmnw yshey bny wezyal wrpyh wneryh wplTyh mah khmsh gwbryn dnbla lTwra azlw shmewn bny mn wmnhwn
Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
